Pokerstars Blogger Tournament - Hour One

It's 20 minutes before the start of the blogger tournament. I just got done explaining how unusual this tournament is to my 5 yo.

"How do you win Daddy?"
"Well, aside from the 1st place winner, I have no idea."

Sums it up. I'm curious to see how things play out. An odd start to my tournament career. I wasn't able to get out to the casino this year for a tournament, not enough vacation days, so this'll be the only one I'm in.

And we start with 1471 players.

I nearly jumped when the seats were assigned, no, no one famous (except for Joanne from the CardSquad blog), just that it was starting. It wasn't until I had a seat that I felt that tinge of excitement. Up until then, it was always "a few weeks away".

Won my first hand, 230 chips, with pocket 10s. Man, I've gotta relax. Been trading chips with players at the table for awhile now. The level of play is very different compared to what I've been playing. It's going to be an interesting evening.

Took 45 minutes before there were any kills at our table, then we lost two of the original quickly. Lost three total before the first break.

There are 1059 players left. I'm ranked 538 in chips.
